Bravenet offers both an email only plan and a classic web and email plan. To get started with an email only plan follow the steps below.

Overview

You can purchase an email only plan for a minimum of a one year term. A Bravenet account and a custom domain are required to use this service. Email storage (quota) can be added in 1 GB increments at any time. You can also add more email accounts at any time.

Step 1 Login or create a new account at Bravenet

Use the following link to login to an existing Bravenet Account or Register a new Account.

Step 2 Add a custom domain to your account

To add a custom domain to your account. you could purchase a new domain:

  1. Click on the 'Domains' tab
  2. Click on the 'Register a Domain' button
  3. Type the custom domain name you would like to use (Example.com) and click the 'Search' button

Step 3 Purchase an Email Plan

To purchase an Email only account:

  1. Click on the 'Email' tab
  2. Select 'Professional Email Without Web Hosting' radio button
  3. Click the 'Get Started' button
  4. Choose from one of our predefined Email Packages "Basic, Advanced or Corporate" using one of the 'Select' buttons or customize what you need with the 'Build Custom' button. The predefined packages can be tailored to suit you needs at a subsequent step.
  5. Adjust the parameters to suit your requirements and click the 'Checkout' button
  6. Pay for your new service with one of our Payment methods. Please ensure that all fields in Contact Info are filled out accurately.

Step 4 Ensure the Domain you are using is enabled for email

Ensure the domain you are using is enabled for Email.

  1. Click on the 'Domains' tab
  2. Clink on the the manage link for the domain you would like to manage 'Example.com > Manage'
  3. If you see an 'Enable Email' button please click that button to enable email services for this domain. If you see 'Disable Email' button no action is required as email is already enabled for this domain.

Step 5 Create an Email Account

To create an email account to send and receive email:

  1. Click on the 'Email' tab
  2. Click on the 'New Email Address' button
  3. Provide the following information
    1. Email Address
    2. Domain
    3. Password
    4. Confirm Password
  4. Click the 'Create' button

Step 6 Test your email

You can login to Webmail to send a test email to another email address right away and verify the recipient received the email. If this is a new domain or the domain had recent DNS changes you may have to wait for the DNS information to fully propagate prior to being able to reliably receive email. Most DNS changes can fully propagate within 24 to 48 hours.
